All of our exams are done except for one whichi s the blogging class. Don’t have anything to say. Can’t think of anything in mind. Just starring into space right now.
What’s your Netiquette
25 06 2009Rule 5: Make yourself look good online.
Take advantage of your content
This rule tells me that to make you look good online is to respect the users in the net and be sure to give good advice when is needed. As people are on the net and want to talk to each other, they don’t know whether he/she is good and the color of their skin. I disagree with this core rule, not only it’s bad but it can criticize young ones and they might not know what it is being said to them.
My friend, Daniel who was talking to another friend on the Internet and it seemed pretty calm so far but you know the friend on the other side later was talking back to him in a cruel manner. He was searing and putting comments on the web for others to see and Daniel didn’t like that.
Pay attention to what you are talking about
Most people on the net never pay attention to what they are saying on the net. Others know but they just write it anyway. In addition to your postings on the net, always make sure that your writing is accurate and understandable. If you like someone and want to write them back. Take time to think what you want to write and be specific. This is most likely to happen when you’re trying to impress someone by using a lot of long words that you don’t understand yourself.
Rule 8: Respect other people’s privacy.
I agree with this core rule because, once you read others email or massages in companies or at your work place. You can get reassigned or worst, get kicked out of work or the company. Privacy means to keep away from other people’s personal items or belongings. Other times, the people can be suspicious to when logged on to your email at times they never went close to the computer.
Protect your items
Some ways you can make sure who is reading your email or other stuff is putting a security camera in a corner of the room where it can not be seen by others but is visible to record the area that is focused on.

Another term is coming
25 06 2009Just received my acrobat mark from my prof. I was happy with the mark. This term went by so fast I didn’t know next week is the last week. Almost finish our exams, just a couple more then BREAK.. The past month all the profs. seem nice and others nicer. The easiest exam was todays the HTML class it was multiple choice and some written but it was ok. The weather was all rain, no sun shine.
For me, I was most happy when I thinking we have no class on wednesday until the week in July. Courses we will be taken in second term are:
- Dreamweaver
- javascript
- illustrator
- audio
- portfolio
I can’t remember the rest but you get the idea. I have no other things to talk about except for the things up top. Well, yeah! nothing to write down. Drawing a blank in my mind now..

Term 1 midterms
11 06 2009As the courses comes closer to the mid section of the program, mid-terms begin. We all cramped our brains into the books and slides the professors gave us. almost 7hrs of studying and no break, I was all like, make this all STOP! No matter what I can’t stop studying and most of the tests were like 10 to about 20%. When the test was handed out to me, I was thinking in mind, “I know this, I know this.” But as I read the question, I had great answers. Writing it down was hard for me because there was such good answers in mind I couldn’t choose which answer to put down. I used my instincts and went for it. So much questions, I just jotted down what I think would be correct. The course midterms I took were:
- Color theory
- Scanning and Color Correction
- Photoshop
- Information Architecture
- Communications for New Media
- Adobe Acrobat
The one course we haven’t taken the mid-term is the Overview of Web Technilogies. We are just going to have a final exam on that instead. Most of the courses now are pretty straight forward. No complaints!! THe biggest test of all would be the information architecture. It has so many slides: 10-12 slides and we have to remember alot of information. We were gonig to have a study group this week but no one made it atleast no one sent out the invitation for the study party.
For me the toughest test would be the IA test.. Out of all the test we have taken so far I find that the Adobe Acrobat Test was the easiest.

More web and expriences at bcit
4 06 2009Basic job in the web business
Yesterday, I had a friend ask me if I could do their site and make it better, I was like sure but its going to cost you. She says,” How much of it is it going to cost.” “It’s about $25, “I said. She then thought about it and right away she aloud me to modify her site. Sometimes I wish I could raise the price higher but as you know others might not like it and that would make my work not good.
The things I do at bcit are good for me in the real world because I can make others happy by helping them and they can help me. I wish that I had more sites to modify but it takes time to complete a awesome job. The teachers in term 1 are very April friendly and they gave pretty good lectures, some I did not like.
Experiences in life
The experience I gained from this sourse is to write blogs on the site and to others to give feedback on your page. Previous years I had 3 blog sites, not much to write about except for my life and other boring stuff. Eventually, I narrowed it down to one site called www.xanga.com and I had lots of pings on that site and comments. I Modified that site to look like a hip site. I haven’t had and training on the site building but they have a page where you can change stuff such as:
- background
- subtitles, footers, layout.
- java script
These were the types of things you would likely to change in that site. However, I had problems with the javascript. It was like a bunch of words scrambled in that box. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with piece of script. The stuff I’m doing now is pretty basic and it’s fun. Mostly I find it boring but then again it’s not.

Website beginners
28 05 2009Sometimes the best way to enjoy building a site is to doing it by scratch. Even though its great to start from scratch, people need to start looking at examples of how its made and the html they use on the site. For me, its easy just find a basic design layout of any site and incorporate it into one of mine but adjust it or tweek it so its better looking. The site that I like to look at for ideas is volleyballbc.ca, it’s simple and I’ve watched a friend for a while creating the volleyball site. Corrina who is the head of volleyball BC asked me for assistance on upgrading the site. To be a great developer and a wed designer you must have potential and the confidence toward that goal. Like me I’m always like that but now, it just varies from time to time.
The people who asked me to check out their site were from:
Common Interest
In high School I took a similiar course to this program but it was on a actual PC. At times it was hard and others weren’t. I find it worth wild because of all the key shortcuts you need to remember and the the elements within the program which is call dreamweaver.
This program lets you create a basic website with basic utensils. Sometimes, I wonder in high school we could have d=gone further into dreamweaver but i guess not. There are more skiils to be taught.
What else is new
The courses I am taking now are pretty straight forward. The first 2 midterms have past for my term 1 program and I am still panicking about the other mid-terms well ahead. I don’t know if I’m going to do well in it. Hopefully, I will and ace it.

Another boring weekend:(
21 05 2009Last weekend was super boring, unlike others. The last weekend I had to stay home and make a moive for my sister. I couldn’t believe how long it took, her friends made lots of videos on her camera that I had to edit. I took parts out and cut parts to the right scene. I was like I won’t be able to finish this in time. But as the days go by, I finished 1/5 for the movie. Their were parts of people on the phone talking, back and forth. I did what ever I can to edit. I also added some effects of my own to spice up her movie for her language (mandarin) class on monday. I was locked up in my computer room all weekend nothing to do except create the prefect movie for Camisha and doing my homework. Unfortunitely, I stumbled upon a very strange thing on my movie. There was like a something in the movie when my sister was filming I couldn’t quite make that out. Eventually, I found a way to take it out.Furthermore, on my last day of the weekend, I was 4/5 of the way done. It was 2 am in the morning, when I fnished it and school was the next day. I didn’t get much sleep.

Weekend plans
14 05 2009Went to abbotsford for a game on the weekend of may 8-10 and it was pretty okay, i guess. Won the first game on friday and the rest is well, you know how it goes…win, win, lost, lost and so on. It got really sunny in Abbots. and I couldn’t stand the heat in my car. Almost ran out of gas when I entered the tradex trade center. Met alot of my Volleyball BC referees over there officiating, put alot of hours into it. Sometimes, I wish i could be officiating cities, but I guess they needed more skilled person for that kind of a job. I had alot of food over there and for the next 2 days.. As i drove back the sun got even brighter and hotter, I had to crank up my AC and cool down. I thought with my car i can be back at Vancouver like 30 minutes but it took longer than i thought because of traffic. On the radio I was listening to the team 1040 station and i wasnt proud of the canucks as they lost 4-2 on Saturday at about 10pm at night. Bought couple of volleyball canada t-shirts and long-sleeve shirts, also a coaching level 1 manual book.

Company in the future!!
1 05 2009Long days pasts by so fast and I was wiped out on my bed. Later on, the most funniest video I have watched was really cool.It was very funny, I laughed and laughed and others laughed. Futhermore, I have been attending some classes for creative suites and I think I have some basic idea how to use the tools and other features of the program. Most of the time I just stay at home on my computer to play around with the adobe family and programs. I have created year books in high school for about 2 years, and it turned out great as i have hoped it would, but in classes we made screw ups on pages that were to pixelized and blurry to see. I was the sports and clubs pages editor and my students to create it worked very productively. One day I hope to have a company of my own and be my oen boss. I hope whoever is interested in creating books or magazines and is looking forward to this job. Look no further, this is a job for you.
This program I’m taking now is Web Design and Development which specifies me in creating web sites and knowing how to create cool web sites for business companies such as my parents auto body company and many more. If you are interested then send me comments and Ill give more information on my next blog entry….
Here is some pictures for a website i created…

My usuall things I do when Im Available!!!
23 04 2009This is my first blog post and these past couple of days was pretty okay i guess, but im hanging on. I have created some blogs from xanga and vancouverxchange, I personally think that I can go further on to make better blogs than the ones I have done with xanga and vancouverxchange. I want to learn more on my web design an development course and get a job in a good company. I created a website using windows but it was more complicated than using a Mac Os X. I have done basic websites for 2 elementary schools. When I finished their websites and I showed them, they were really impressed by the layout and colour. Most of my friends wanted me to build a website for them but i said no, because I told them I needed more training on website development so that’s why I’m taking this course. Sometimes, when I am on the computer and learning about programs I play around with programs I don’t normally use and I get familiar like in one hours or so…. For me is creating year books using Adobe Indesign and packaging it. I was a editor for abot 3 years at my high school and I got accepted to Art Institute at the downtown campus. But I said no, BCIT was more for me because I’m a computer guy. I fix most of my cousins computers when its down.
